Carpet Catastrophes. How to Remove the Most Stout of Stains

1. Red Wine – The Most Dreadful of All Wines

To absorb as much of the stain as possible, gently wipe it with a clean cloth.
To remove the stain, use a solution consisting of two cups hot water, a tablespoon of dishwashing detergent, and a tablespoon of white vinegar.
Rinse your hair with cold, running water. Let it dry.

2. Inky Mishaps

Use a cloth to dab isopropyl ethanol on the stain.

The solution can be applied to a damp cloth. Rub gently, and rinse.

5. Tomato Sauce
For when your spaghetti night goes a little wild.


Remove any leftover sauce.
Then, use cold water to wipe the stain.
Mix equal parts of salt and lemon juice. Let it stand for a few moments.
Rinse thoroughly with cold running water.
